Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) recently won a new, seven-year $11.2 million contract with the Department of Transportation to provide janitorial and light maintenance services to eight rest stops and two weigh stations along I-75.
The $1.6 million annual contract will employ 80 people, 60 with disabilities, to provide these services to the I-75 facilities in Pasco, Sumter, Marion and Hillsborough counties. BAC will be a subcontractor for RESPECT of Florida and TME Enterprises of Chesapeake, Virginia, the Asset Maintenance contractor.
“We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to provide more people with disabilities in Florida the chance to work,” said BAC President and CEO, Amar Patel. “We sincerely appreciate the DOT and RESPECT of Florida for awarding us this contract.”
