Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) recently won a subcontract with American Maintenance, the prime custodial contractor for Port Canaveral and its tenants, to provide custodial services for 58,000 square feet of employee offices and facilities at the Port.  The contract will employ four people with disabilities and generate $109,000 annually for BAC.

“We are extremely grateful to American Maintenance for asking us to serve as their partner on the Port Canaveral project,” said BAC President and CEO, Amar Patel. “This is just the first of what we hope will be many more opportunities to team with our area business community.”

The subcontract work at the Port is the first contract BAC has won in the commercial market.  Plans to establish further business services contracts with the local business community are already underway.  Other business services that BAC can provide besides custodial include grounds, warehousing and dining operations, as well as total facilities management.  To ensure that all services offered maintain the highest in industry standards, BAC has obtained the following certifications: custodial services – LEEDS, ISSA-CIMS and CLLM (Certified Laundry and Linen Management); food operations – ServSafe; building services – Facility Management Professional; and grounds operations – Sports Turfgrass Maintenance. This year the Center also joined the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast at the Patron Level to build a stronger partnership with local businesses, as well as market its services to the commercial sector.
