Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) is pleased to announce that The Boeing Company has awarded the agency with a $5,000 grant to be used to strengthen its Pre-Employment Training (PET) program.
The PET program offers adult job seekers with a disability a structured, 40-hour curriculum which better prepares them for entry into the workforce, as well as gives them instruction on what it takes to successfully obtain and maintain employment. BAC’s PET instructor offers individualized training, based on client need and ability, to better assist the participant meet their career goal. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are assigned to work with an Employment Coordinator who assists them with the job placement process. Participants in the PET program are identified and referred by the State of Florida Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program.
“We are extremely grateful to Boeing for their generosity and commitment to helping our client population obtain community employment,” said Jennifer Secor, vice president of employment for BAC. “The Boeing grant will allow us to continue to provide the PET program to those individuals with disabilities who need this type of service. ”
