On May 4th, 2023, BAC had the privilege of hosting a highly esteemed guest, Executive Director of the U.S. AbilityOne Commission, Kimberly Zeich. As a prominent advocate for disability rights and inclusion, Kimberly’s visit had a profound and lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of being a part of it. During her visit, Kimberly engaged with the organization in numerous ways, electing to tour the Patrick Commissary, Patrick Custodial and Patrick Riverside Dining Hall, as well as BAC’s headquarters in Rockledge.
As an influential figure in the disability community, Ms. Zeich’s visit served as a testament to BAC’s commitment and passion for inclusion. BAC has long been recognized for its dedication to providing employment opportunities and support services for individuals with disabilities and is a proud participating nonprofit within the AbilityOne program. Through AbilityOne, BAC provides best-value services for our federal customers while, employing hundreds of people with disabilities across Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Puerto Rico.
Kimberly’s knowledge empowered everyone present, fostering a deeper understanding of disability rights and advocacy. Ms. Zeich, who previously served as the Commission’s Deputy Executive Director, has more than 25 years of Commission experience in a range of staffing roles including Director of Program Operations; and Director of Business Development. Her presence left an indelible mark, helping to not only reinforce our mission, but also sparking a collective determination to dismantle barriers faced by individuals with disabilities.
Kimberly’s visit to BAC will be cherished as a true milestone in our journey towards a more inclusive and equitable society where individuals of varying abilities can fully contribute, thrive, and embrace their own potential.
