Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) associates and staff that manage all aspects of Patrick Air Force Base’s Riverside Dining Facility just learned today that they have been awarded the Air Force’s Hennessy Trophy for Best Food Service Program 2016.
“Our Riverside Dining team takes great pride in serving our soldiers each and every day,” said Wayne Wells, vice president of Operations. “BAC is very grateful to the Air Force for recognizing their dedication and commitment.”
The Hennessy Trophy is an annual award presented to Air Force installations with the best Food Service Program in the Air Force. Winners are selected based on their display and execution of excellence in Management Effectiveness, Force Readiness Support, Food Quality, Employee and Customer Relations, Training and Safety Awareness. Founded in 1956, the Hennessy Awards Program was named after the late John L. Hennessy, a hotel and restaurant executive who lead a special Hoover Commission Task Group advisory of Military Food Services and Commissions Board members to improve military food service. The Air Force was the first branch of the Armed Forces to adopt the program.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Hennessy Trophy competition and the fourth time Riverside Dining has won the Hennessy Trophy under BAC’s management.
