Brevard Achievement Center (BAC) recently achieved Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS Green Building with Honors (CIMS-GB with Honors) certification, the highest offered, from ISSA – the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association. CIMS is the first consensus-based management standard that outlines the primary characteristics of a successful, quality cleaning organization. The CIMS-GB with Honors distinction recognizes BAC’s excellence in custodial services operations and places the agency among a very elite group of other private and nonprofit contract service groups that hold this designation.
“Even before it was popular to be ‘green,’ our team has been committed to providing our custodial customers with environmentally preferable services,” said Wayne Wells, vice president of operations for BAC. “Our project managers and associates have worked very hard to earn this honor.”
Wells added that by receiving this certification his team now has the capability to provide green cleaning services that will assist customers earn points under the LEED – Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System.
The addition of the CIMS-GB with Honors certification is one more accreditation that the agency holds for its business services. BAC also has attained the following certifications: custodial services, Certified Laundry and Linen Management (CLLM); food operations, ServSafe; building services, Facility Management Professional; and grounds maintenance, Sports Turfgrass Maintenance.
