Behind every successful training day at Training Center Yorktown is a dedicated team working tirelessly to ensure critical systems remain operational. The BACE Yorktown team is a five-person maintenance and repair force that serves as the backbone of facility support across the installation.
The BACE Yorktown team is responsible for a wide range of services that directly impact the daily operations of Tracen Yorktown. Their expertise spans commercial equipment installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, electrical systems, HVAC systems, appliances, computer controls, and facility safety. Whether addressing routine maintenance requirements or responding to unexpected emergencies, the team consistently delivers reliable and professional support.
Preventive maintenance is a key component of the team’s mission. By routinely inspecting, servicing, and maintaining critical equipment, BACE Yorktown helps prevent costly breakdowns, extends the life of facility assets, and ensures mission readiness throughout the base. Their proactive approach keeps classrooms, administrative buildings, galleys, barracks, and operational facilities functioning efficiently.
When equipment failures occur, the BACE team quickly transitions from prevention to action. Their extensive troubleshooting and repair capabilities allow them to diagnose issues and restore systems with minimal downtime. From electrical faults and HVAC malfunctions to appliance repairs and computerized control systems, the team possesses the technical knowledge and experience necessary to resolve complex maintenance challenges.
The team’s commitment extends far beyond the standard workday. While they normally operate Monday through Friday, BACE Yorktown maintains an on-call presence seven days a week to support the installation whenever emergencies arise. During power outages and other critical incidents, team members respond immediately, often serving as the first line of technical support to restore essential services and maintain operational continuity.
Their dedication, professionalism, and technical expertise help ensure that Tracen Yorktown remains a safe, functional, and mission-ready training environment for Coast Guard members, staff, and students. Though much of their work takes place behind the scenes, the impact of the BACE Yorktown team is visible throughout the installation every day.
The BACE Yorktown team exemplifies commitment to service, reliability, and excellence—working around the clock to keep Tracen Yorktown operating at its best.
