Celebrating 40 Years of Creativity and Inclusion:
BAC’s Color in Motion Arts Festival
For four decades, BAC’s Color in Motion Arts Festival has stood as a joyful tribute to creativity, inclusion, and the transformative power of artistic expression. What began as a local celebration has grown into a beloved tradition that touches thousands of lives each year.
Watch the magic unfold in our event video below!
A Festival That Brings Art to Life
This year’s festival welcomed 1,436 attendees from 96 classrooms across Brevard County—both public and private. More than 900 students from Exceptional Education classrooms had the opportunity to explore the sights and sounds of the Brevard Zoo while diving into hands-on, interactive art experiences that uplift and inspire.
From vibrant painting stations to music, movement, and performance art, every corner of the festival offered a chance for students to connect, create, and express themselves in a supportive environment.
Powered by People Who Care
Behind the scenes, 315+ volunteers, along with the incredible teams from BAC and the Brevard Zoo, brought the three-day event to life. Their dedication ensured that every student, regardless of ability, had a safe and welcoming space to explore their creativity.
In preparation for the big day, teachers were equipped with special video instruction from BAC’s resident artist, Mary Moon. These sessions guided classrooms in designing their own unique pennants, which were proudly displayed throughout the festival grounds—each one a colorful reflection of the students’ creativity.
Art as a Pathway to Growth
For individuals with disabilities, art is more than just a pastime—it’s a powerful tool for building confidence, fostering communication, and encouraging personal development. Whether through painting, music, performance, or storytelling, these artistic experiences engage students in ways traditional classroom methods often can’t.
Art empowers students to express their thoughts and feelings, improve fine motor skills, and make meaningful social connections—all while having fun.
A Heartfelt Thank You
This incredible milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our community. To the teachers, bus drivers, volunteers, and generous sponsors who make Color in Motion a reality every year—thank you. Your commitment helps us continue this legacy of art, inclusion, and impact.
As we celebrate 40 years of Color in Motion, we look forward with excitement to the next chapter of creativity and possibility.
