Introduction to Sea Life Stencils
Bring the beauty of the ocean to life with sea life stencils and vibrant acrylic paints! These stencils are perfect for creating stunning artwork inspired by the wonders of the sea.
Experiment with blending colors, layering designs, or adding unique details to make your sea life artwork truly one-of-a-kind! Happy painting!

- Choose apropriate canvas size or watercolor paper
- Choose stencil ahead of time
- Tape the stencil down to avoid line leakage
- Use the firm brush, sponge dabber or natural sponge to dab paint in an up and down motion
- Lift the stencil and tape slowly
- Wash the stencil in water, or place in a bowl of water to soak until ready to wash
Tape Resist Art
Unleash your creativity with this fun and easy tape resist technique! Using acrylic paints and tape, you can design a stunning piece of art with clean, bold lines and vibrant color contrasts.
This technique is perfect for creating modern, eye-catching designs. Experiment with different patterns and color palettes to make your artwork uniquely yours!
(Pro Tip: Use painter’s tape or masking tape to create geometric shapes, patterns, or abstract designs. Press down firmly on the edges to prevent paint from seeping underneath.)

- Apply tape to make design on canvas
- Rub the tape to secure
- Squeeze 3-4 colors of paint onto the canvas
- Use a comb or textured object to move the paint around
- Let dry most of the way, then peel the tape off
- Choose a stencil and tape into the section

Creating an Underwater Scene
UTransform your canvas into a vibrant underwater world by starting with a stunning ombre background! This smooth gradient effect is the perfect base for layering stencils of sea life to bring your ocean-inspired artwork to life.
(Pro Tip: Apply the darkest color at the bottom of the canvas and gradually blend lighter colors as you move upward. Use a damp sponge or soft brush to blend where the colors meet for a smooth transition. Allow the ombre background to dry completely before adding stencils.)

- Collect Natural Items, leaves, flowers and outdoor flora
- To create the background use the firm brush to paint stripes of paint colors in the same family (example: dark blue to light blue)
- Blend the clors together together to create an ombre
- Dip sponge in paint of contrasting color and dap gently to add details
- Let dry completly before moving forward

- Decorate with marine stencils to create a scene
