TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” Students with significant cognitive disabilities don’t have the opportunities their peers have when it comes to the arts. My students get to create periodically because of the seeds that have been planted over the years through the arts program.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” My students enjoyed being out in the community practicing social skills and independent function skills. It is a great opportunity for our students to practice the skills we teach them in the classroom in a community setting.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” Students will be able to use their fidget bracelets they made to help them focus during structured academic tasks.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” I plan to incorporate more music into my classroom after seeing how much they enjoyed it at the Zoo.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” We are using our photographs from the trip to write a class story. They love seeing themselves at the zoo and are able to talk about the pictures! ”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” Enabling the students to see their finished work (our class windsock) allows them to feel pride in what they accomplished even if it was a struggle at times.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

“It is difficult for these students to be included in something important, so having an opportunity like this and then to be able to go to the zoo and see so many windsocks present and know that they worked on one of them is truly more important than most can imagine.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” Students with significant disabilities can feel pushed by the way side so I appreciate being given the opportunity to allow my students to feel included in these special arts opportunities.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” It’s engaging! It’s fun and students of all ability levels can participate. What they create can be saved and admired for years.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” My students gained confidence after making their windsocks with Mary.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” My students are able to creatively express ideas through the arts that they are not able to express through writing or verbally.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” The arts are able to make my students feel more inclusive and a part of something bigger than just them and their school.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” My students look forward to this field trip every year. They are not included when general education classes go on field trips so this is a very special day for them. I take pictures from our special day and display them in the classroom.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” It brings everyone together to be a part of something bigger than themselves.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” I have a lot of nonverbal students and this event opens the opportunity for an enriched language and sensory experience.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” Our students loved the whole experience! They loved being able to use their hands and build their vocabulary.”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” Hands-on projects really help with the retainment of math and vocabulary. It is also a great confidence boost for the students to see what they can accomplish through art when it is broken down into smaller manageable parts. ”

TEACHER TESTIMONIAL

” The organization, and support provided for the teachers was incredible. It allowed me to engage more with my students such an uplifting day for me as a teacher.”
