A partnership between BAC and Codecraft Works, LaunchIT combines Codecraft Work’s STEM-based, blended learning approach with BAC’s wrap-around services and experience in serving people with unique abilities.  LaunchIT allows both adult and youth to explore, educate and launch into the world of IT. For more than 50 years, BAC has taken a mission-centric, community-based approach to providing critical services to people living with disabilities. We customize our services to meet the unique, personal needs of each participant we work with. BAC partners closely with businesses to provide well-matched potential employees to fulfill employers hiring needs. As the workforce needs change, we prepare our youth and adult participants for careers in Information Technology.

LaunchIT Adult Program

LaunchIT provides solutions to two workplace challenges: filling entry-level Information Technology (IT) positions and increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities and Veterans.

By completing this comprehensive, six-month live virtual program, people of varying abilities from all over the nation earn internationally recognized certifications with the guidance of specialized mentors. Learning to be experts in their field, LaunchIT graduates enter the workplace with independence and confidence.

This six-month program is designed for veterans or adults with unique abilities over age 18 who have an interest in a career in the IT industry. The program offers two professional certification tracks led by the Codecraft Works team. Participants of both tracks will receive BAC’s intensive, wrap-around support services designed to build the soft skills needed for workforce readiness. When combined, these services will provide participants with the key tools and industry knowledge they need for successful employment.

LaunchIT Youth Program

BAC and Codecraft Works are excited to offer an immersive web development program that will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of web design and development using our proven curriculum, web application, and our experienced staff. This 60-hour project-based learning class will encourage the enhancement of soft skills through team building exercises.

This 60-hour program is designed for students between the ages of 14 and 21 who have an IEP or a 504 plan and enrolled in school or post-secondary school. All LaunchIT trainings will be conducted via live virtual platforms. The student should have an interest in learning more about information technology. The student should have basic working knowledge of their computer and have the ability to communicate with instructors and fellow participants. The student does not need to have any prior coding experience.

BAC is excited to offer this opportunity to students through a Florida Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) funded contract. This opportunity is 100% free for all students who meet the program requirements. Students do not have to be connected with VR to participate but will be referred to their local office after program acceptance.
